You open the book and forget about your own problems and laugh at her sometimes stupid, sometimes ridiculous behavior. The book doesn't have a lot of philosophy, it doesn't gift you new knowledge, but the book was written to entertain and it fulfills its function perfectly. If you open it you can't stop reading.

The main characters are wonderfully described. It's easy to fall in love with Mark and you really don't like and understand Bridget's mother. It's a usual book for usual people. Sure not all can be in reality but it give you an opportunity to dream about such boyfriend as Mark, about being so brave as Bridget, about being so lucky as her mother.

All my expectations came true. The main advantage of its book is its entertaining function - it's a good book to read after long and grey day. Second one is its language, it's read quickly and everything is clear but for someone such easy vocabulary can be disadvantage.

Also there is another disadvantage, you can guess the end right at the beginning of the book but mostly it's inherent to all entertaining literature so it's not an absolute disadvantage.

To sum up I can say that after the reading you want to have a continuation of the story and I really advice at least watch the film which is suitable for a long winter evening.( By the way, I think that it's the rare case when the film is better than the book)
