   For me, the actors are ideal for their characters. Daniel looks         arrogant, Mark is serious but still charming and Bridget is cute and easygoing. 

But the film is really differs from the book. Firstly, there are some unimportant adds from the creators, like Mark's Japanese wife and that Bridget was not allowed to smoke in presence of her mother etc. 

Secondly, the film is much more realistic than the book. There is no crime story about the lover of Bridget's mother who stole money. Bridget just decided to renew her relations with Daniel which pushed off Mark for a while but finally they came together during New Year's Night which was very romantic. But the most strange moment that in the film Bridget can seem like a real sloven and a vulgar girl but it's not so bad in the book.

I reckon that the film is even more peculiar than the book and it's rare case but,in my opinion, it's better than the book.
